Mount Fuji

Often shrouded in clouds, sacred Mt. Fuji rises as a solitary cone to over 12,000 feet from the landscape. It last erupted in 1707.

I felt lucky to get this picture with only one day of sightseeing from Tokyo. In March, when this was taken from the shore of Lake Yamanaka, there was still a thin coating of ice on parts of the lake.
